September 16, 2008 Reuven Firestone, author of An Introduction to Islam for Jews, will be speaking on the topic of "Islam: What Every Jew Should Know" in Buttenweiser Hall at The 92nd Street Y in New York City at 8:15 pm.

October 2, 2008 The Jewish Publication Society's 120th birthday party at Philadelphia's Federation.
October 30, 2008 The Jewish Publication Society's 120th Anniversary Celebration at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts
November 6, 2008 Arie Kaplan, author of From Krakow to Krypton: Jews and Comic Books, will be speaking at the Rosenwald Gallery of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia at 5:30 pm as part of an exhibit and program on the history of comic books in America.
November 9 - 12, 2008 Vanessa Ochs, author of the National Jewish Book Award winning title Inventing Jewish Ritual, will be the Scholar-in-Residence at the Women's League of Conservative Judaism Biennial Conference, taking place on November 9-12, 2008 in Detroit, Michigan.
Maggie Anton, author of the acclaimed historical novel series Rashi's Daughters and now the JPS young adult novel Rashi's Daughter, Secret Scholar, will be conducting several sessions at the Women's League of Conservative Judaism Biennial Conference, taking place on November 9-12, 2008 in Detroit, Michigan.
November 16, 2008 Arie Kaplan, author of From Krakow to Krypton: Jews and Comic Books , will be appearing at the Twin Cities Jewish Book Fair in St. Paul, Minnesota at the JCC of St. Paul. His event will take place at 3:00 pm.
