Colored Paper Mosaic Tray or Plaque
 |
This craft project calls for the use of scissors. Before beginning, get
either help or the "go-ahead" from a responsible adult.
|
You will need:
- Scissors
- Paper
- Styrofoam tray, paper tray or dish, or sheet of cardboard
- Crayons
- Sheets of colored construction paper, cut into ½-inch squares
- White glue or paste
- Sheet of clear, adhesive-backed plastic film, large enough to cover the
surface of the tray or plaque
Directions:
- Using the scissors, cut the paper to the size of your tray or board.
- With the crayons, draw and color a simple design, using the colors of your
construction paper, or copy the design from the illustrations shown here.
- Spread a thin layer of glue or paste over part of the tray or board.
Using your drawing as a guide, place the colored squares side by side on the
paste.
- Repeat step three on another part of the tray or board. Do a section at
a time until the design is complete.
- Let the glue or paste dry overnight.
- Peel the paper off the adhesive-backed plastic. Lay the plastic over
the mosaic surface. Press it flat, and trim the edges.
