JPS eBooks FAQ

JPS is proud to offer an expansive eBook selection of our published titles. If you have any questions that are not answered below, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

In what format are JPS eBooks published?

All of our eBooks are web-ready PDF files. They are made directly from the print files. This means that your print book and eBook will be exactly the same.

Do they require specific software?

Yes. JPS eBooks are for use with Adobe Digital Editions software (for desktop reading). When you purchase your eBook you will be prompted to download the software if it is not already installed on your computer.

On what devices can I read my JPS eBooks?

JPS eBooks are primarily designed for desktop reading with Adobe Digital Editions; however they are readable on over 85 devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Sony eReader, and the Barnes & Noble Nook. You can find the complete (and growing) list on the Adobe site. To find out more about how to transfer your JPS eBook to a supported device, please visit the third-party website for your supported device; it can be found on the Adobe site.

My device isn't on the list; can I still buy JPS eBooks?

Yes! Most of our eBooks can also be purchased through third-party vendors, including the Amazon Kindle and the Barnes & Noble Nook. These vendors sell JPS eBooks directly through their own websites or via mobile reading devices.

I've purchased a JPS eBook, but I can't figure out how to download it. Can you help?

Once your purchase has been processed, you will see a download link on the receipt confirmation page, as well as in the receipt that will be emailed to you. You will also find the download link in the Downloads area under your JPS account. If you have any more questions about your purchase, please contact us. We're happy to help.

What is your refund policy?

In general, we don't refund purchases of eBooks since they are not physically returnable. We do understand that sometimes technical difficulties get in the way. If you're having trouble downloading or opening your eBook, please let us know. We'll try to resolve your issue before discussing other options.
