The JPS Mitzvah Project
Tikkun Olam At the Core of the JPS Mission
At its heart, The Jewish Publication Society has always been about helping people from all walks of life—k'lal Yisrael—and never more so than as we celebrate our 120th anniversary.
We frequently receive and fill requests for JPS books from other nonprofit organizations. We make Jewish books available to those who cannot obtain or afford them—from US military personnel, to very small congregations in the U.S., to disadvantaged communities around the world.
While the books we send are free, costs for shipping and handling need to be underwritten. These costs, especially to overseas recipients, have skyrocketed due to postal service charges that have doubled in the past year, and continue to rise.
Your generous contribution in support of JPS ensures that we continue to fund the JPS Mitzvah Project.
What Is the JPS Mitzvah Project?
Through this program, we send new and gently used JPS books to communities, organizations, prisons, schools and libraries, and hospitals in North America and Europe, and to Jewish communities around the world, including Ghana, Nigeria, Israel, India, Argentina, South Africa, Botswana, and China.
The JPS Mitzvah Project raises funds to offset all expenses related to sending these books to approved recipient organizations in need. Read more.
